Northwest regional energy policy

NW Energy Coalition - Public Policy: Table of Contents The Energy Coalition promotes clean and affordable energy by influencing key decisions made in various policy arenas: electric utilities, public utility commissions, state legislatures, and state and federal agencies. Since 1981, the Coalition's efforts have persuaded regional utilities to save more than 3,000 average megawatts of electricity through cost-effective efficiencies. The Energy Coalition also sponsored successful legislation that mitigates carbon dioxide emissions from Washington power plants, and has helped opened the door for renewable energy development.
